Eric Peterson believes part of what makes Columbia a fantastic place to live is the collective energy of people working together to ensure success throughout the community. That’s why he wanted to be part of the P.R.I.D.E. organization and its effort since first learning about P.R.I.D.E. — because P.R.I.D.E.’s outreach and goals contribute to a vision of community unity and celebrated diversity. Mr. Peterson has been involved in many other community service organizations and projects, in addition to being a P.R.I.D.E. board member. He is also a board member for the Friends of Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, a Rock Bridge Lions Club board member, a SCORE Against Hunger volunteer, co-chair of the Columbia Ducks Unlimited Central Committee, and a former United Way division co-chair. Mr. Peterson hopes P.R.I.D.E. will garner interest throughout the community and provide Columbia’s youths a no-cost, readily accessible place to gather, develop themselves, and have fun through sports and other activities. He also hopes P.R.I.D.E. will show Columbia’s youths first-hand how a community can unite behind a cause to make its city an even better place for all to live.
