Harold Warren
Board Director
Send A Message To Harold Warren

Harold Warren Sr. brings to the PRIDE board a knowledge of Columbia gleaned from a lifetime spent living and working here. Since moving to the community in 1948 from his family's rural Boone County farm, Mr. Warren has served the community in a number of ways: as a charter member and deacon of the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, a two-term president of the Columbia Branch of the NAACP, a founding president of Rainbow Diamond Optimist Club, a member of Rising Sun Lodge No. 164, a member of the Richard T. Kelly American Legion Post No. 238, and the senior partner in the Warren Funeral Chapel. One of his proudest achievements is running for and winning the position of

Second Ward city councilman-Columbia's first black councilman-after having been appointed to serve an unexpired six-month term.

Mr. Warren believes that "service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy," and every able-bodied person should contribute to better the environment in which he lives. This belief in service leads him to be enthusiastic about PRIDE's mission, recognizing the possibility of the organization to help nurture and mold young people into productive adults and contributing members of the community.
